“Parasite” (Korean: 기󀷝충, English: Parasite) is a 2019 South Korean drama thriller film directed by Pong Joon-ho. The movie is set in a country where two different families find themselves connected to each other in an unexpected way. The poor Kim family and the rich Park family are trying to survive in a highly competitive and socially unequal environment. The Kim family consists of four people: father Ki-Taek (Song Kang-ho), mother Chun-Sook (Lee Sung-kyu) and their two children, son Ki-woo (Park Seo-dam) and daughter Ki-jae (Jeong Ji-seo). The family lives in a small apartment and is constantly struggling financially. The father works at a laundromat, the mother works at a store, the son is a student who dreams of becoming a rapper, and the daughter is a high school student who tries to help the family in any way she can. On the other hand, the Park family consists of the head of the family, Mr. Park (Choi Woo-shik) and his wife (Jo Yeo-ju) and their two children. They live in a big house and have their own business.
